Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola still believes his team performed well despite the defeat.

The Citizens lost 0-2 to Juventus in the Champions League’s sixth stage on Wednesday, leaving City with just eight points.

“We played well, played very well,” the Spaniard told TNT Sports.

“We didn’t lose many balls, we conceded some counter-attacks but I’m proud of these players, they gave it their all and tried very hard. Now we are in the moment and hopefully we can change the result.

“I know it’s difficult, in the Champions League, in Europe. We played very well, today we did well, we didn’t give away as many balls as we did in the past. We tried and performed to the point we planned.

“Against an Italian team that defends deep, is very solid and is good at playing in situations like this, we played ourselves and missed chances, but the performance looked good.”

He said: “It’s the target. We need one point or three points. We go to Paris to try to do it and the last game at home.”

Veteran midfielder Ilkay Gundogan said after the game he felt City were suffering from a loss of confidence. But Guardiola Register ufabet dismissed his player’s comments.

“I am not agreeing with Ilkay,” he said. “Of course it is tough but, except one or two games in this period, we’ve played good.”

City now face a further test of their resolve as they host rivals Manchester United in a derby on Sunday.
